SOA on Cacao Production Yielded 788 graduates

The Department of Agriculture – Regional Agriculture and Fishery Information Section (RAFIS conducted its School On-the Air (SOA) Graduation on Cacao Production in different provinces of MIMAROPA.

In Mindoro, 146 SOA enrollees from different municipalities in Oriental Mindoro graduated on September 30, 2019 at El Pueblo Rhizort, Calapan City while 125 graduates were produced in Occidental Mindoro on October 9, 2019 at Sikatuna Beach Hotel and Resort in San Jose.

Meanwhile, SOA produces the highest number of enrollees in Marinduque with 415 graduates. It was conducted on October 22, 2019 at Provincial Training for Agriculture and Development Center (PTADC) Brgy. Tamayo in Sta. Cruz.

The last batch was from Palawan with 102 graduates. The graduation was held at Covered Court, Aborlan Palawan on November 27, 2019.

SOA graduates individually received their certificate of participation, tshirts, fans and assorted vegetable seeds. Also, questions about the cacao production were asked to test what they have learned during the long distance learning.

Outstanding SOA graduates were also recognized and received a medal, transistor radio and a certificate of recognition. For Oriental Mindoro, the outstanding graduates were: Rene Rose Hermosa, Baby Lyn Evangelista, Sherlyn Nabisa, Concepcion Nabisa, Baby Sheila Masangkay, Josephine Macatol, Antipolo Abenio and Albert Marco. While the top five (5) graduates from Occidental Mindoro were: Alfredo Sualog, Jr., Nilo Binalangbang, Bella Erodias, Carmern Catuira and Merlie Roxas. For Marinduque, the top 5 were: Marcial Pernia, Roberto Pondevida, Alvin Regencia, Leonardo Peña and Gernan Revidizo. SOA in Palawan also has top 5 outstanding graduates namely: Angelito Junia, Marisol Salvador, Ramiro Evangelista, Nelia Vinturillo, and Nora Favila.

Partners in the successful implementation of SOA such as the Local Government Units, Municipal Agriculturists and coordinators, assigned Agricultural Extension Workers in cacao, resource speakers and farmcasters were also given appreciations and recognitions with Information, Education and Communication (IEC) collaterals as their token.

The SOA Program was broadcasted in different radio stations in MIMAROPA. For Oriental Mindoro, it was aired over DWXR 101.7 FM, Calapan City every Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:30Am to 11:00AM with Mr. Jovilito Landicho as the Farmcaster.

 For the Southern part of Occidental Mindoro, it was broadcasted over 101.7 RADYO NATIN FM San Jose, every Wednesday at 11:00 A.M to 11:30 A.M with Ms. Rosalila Austral. While, for Northern part the province was aired over DWME FM 103.3 MHz, every Friday at 11:00 A.M to 11:30 A.M with Mr. Reynaldo Factor.

SOA was also aired in Marinduque over Radyo Natin – Sta. Cruz every Tuesday at 11:00AM- 12:00NN with Mr. Marvin Recalde. While SOA in Palawan was anchored by Ms. Eleanor Lotivo over DWIZ 94.3 FM every Friday at 1:30 PM to 02:30 PM.
