Regional Executive Director, Atty. Christopher R. Bañas is a proud member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, and a Certified Public Procurement Specialist, trained by the University of the Philippines National Engineering Center.

He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of the East, and earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science from the Ateneo de Naga University.

Throughout his career, he has exemplified excellence, discipline, and integrity. He served for ten years as Chief Auditor of the Department of Agriculture’s Internal Audit Service, ensuring transparency and accountability in the department's operations. Recognizing his leadership and dedication, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. appointed him as Director IV of the DA Internal Audit Service in 2023, and shortly after, was designated as the Regional Executive Director of Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office MIMAROPA (DA-MIMAROPA) by Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, Jr. in January 2024.

He also holds the trust and confidence of the President as one of the Board Directors of Food Terminal, Inc., appointed on February 6, 2024—helping steer strategic directions in food logistics and agricultural marketing.

On April 2, 2025, he was once again appointed by the President—this time as a full-fledged Director IV of the DA-MIMAROPA, solidifying his position as one of the department’s key leaders in the region.

His commitment to public service extends beyond the office. He is a Lieutenant Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, a Reservist of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, a Master Mason, and a proud member of the Delta Lambda Law Fraternity—embodying a life of civic duty and servant leadership.

Today, he leads the DA-MIMAROPA Region with integrity, legal acumen, and a deep understanding of the systems that drive progress in rural development.
