DA MIMAROPA regards best health to its employees for 2020

Holidays such as Christmas and New Year are closely approaching, signaling a festive season with loved ones and friends – best spent without hurdles in health. Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office – MIMAROPA, in tradition, sent regards to its employees with a general assembly and seminar on health and nutrition awareness in Ramada Hotel, Binondo, Manila on December 17.

The assembly aimed to orient members to being health-invested individuals at a social venue of sorts, developing camaraderie, harmony and awareness in various interactions with family, partners, and peers. This connotes the impact of personal body care to longer-lasting relationships and mental assurance of dealing with less health problems in the future.

“Para sa mga lalaki lang ito nung una pero empowered na ngayon ang kababaihan at maganda ring napapag-usapan ito ng kalahatan, lalo ng mga may kapareha,” stated Population Commission Resource Speaker Ferdinand Estoesta, noticing the heterogeneous crowd of participants, a difference he highlighted from last year’s activity which only held the institution’s male employees. He raised insights and pointers on handling clear rapport and relationship disputes by physical and emotional understanding of a partner in sex and gender contexts. Matters on lives in marriage and couple beginnings were exchanged between the speaker and the members.

In line with this, Department of Health – MIMAROPA Resource Speaker Dr. Cristy Andaya gave a briefing on simple methods of handling stress and taking care of one’s health through regular intake of water whenever needed, a balanced diet of “Go, Glow, and Grow” foods, and a walk for fresh air and casual exercise. Natural healing and relaxation can also be achieved as done in Chinese traditional medicine such as reflexology, acupressure, and body massage – the last one actively enjoyed by participants in pairs. The speaker tipped on various body pressure points to which a person may refer to for health signs and first-aid remedies. Constant physical assessments was also said to help in illness prevention or reduction.

“Maraming salamat sa mga dumalo – ang lahat ng ito ay hindi magiging matagumpay kung wala kayo,” expressed Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulation Dr. Louella Rowena Lorenzana. Institutional Development Unit Focal Person Marieta Setias sends her gratitude to all who participated in the activity.
