Department of Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar announced on Thursday, June 17, that the agency budgeted P183 million (M) worth of agri-fishery interventions to the province of Marinduque under the Bayanihan 3 in 2022.
“Here in the list we have infrastructure projects (for the province). We have packing house with cold storage---P20M, feedmill---P20M, rice processing centers with machinery---P63M, trading center--- 50M plus two (2) fishery cold storage---P30M. P183M na for the infrastructure alone for next year,” he announced.
He had the announcement during the signing of Memorandum of Agreement for the implementation of the Province-Led Agriculture and Fishery Extension Systems (PAFES) in the said province.
An additional of P10M as a support for the research and development project of the Marinduque State College and P20M processing facility for AGREA Philippines were also committed during the province’s presentation of their Commodity Investment Plan in a separate venue.
According to him, this is could be the counter part of the DA under the implementation of PAFES apart from the national budget allocation for next year.
He also added this Bayanihan III budget could help not to disrupt the 2022 budget allocation for agri-fishery and would triple the budget for the province this year which is P75M.
“Aasa po kayo na ang Kagawaran ng Pagsasaka katuwang po ninyo sa pagpapalago ng agrikultura at pangisdaan sa Marinduque,” he ended.
