DA-BAR Financed the Construction of DA PRES R&D Building

DA-BAR Financed the Construction of DA PRES R&D Building

Department of Agriculture-Palawan Research and Experiment Station (DA-PRES) Research and Development (R&D) Building will now be made possible because of Bureau of Agricultural Research, who give the funding for the construction of the said R&D building.

A ceremonial ground breaking was held on December 5, 2016 in Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa City which was led by DR. Louella Rowena J. Lorenzana, Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulation. The ground breaking is one of the highlights of the 63rd founding anniversary celebration of DA-PRES.

BAR gave an initial payment of Php 5M for the construction of the two-storey building. The facility will be equipped with developing, verifying, and packaging agricultural technologies and other research amenities.

Dr. Nicomedes Eleazar, BAR Director, said in a statement that they will be expecting more R&D projects and initiatives for the progress of the agriculture and fisheries sectors. It will also make the researchers and trainers more efficient and effective to the call of agricultural modernization and globalization.

Afterwards, the heads, together with the participating farmers in Palawan toured around the "Edible Landscaping, the DA- PRES Style" where they witnessed the different crops planted in the vicinity of the station. Participants also had the opportunity to harvest the crops that are products of organic farming.
