The main objective of the training is to train the participants and encourage them to establish plant nursery for accreditation, plant material certification, and NSIC registration of potential cashew varieties.

The purpose of the certification is to maintain and make available high quality seeds of superior crop varieties of known genetic and varietal purity including reasonable standards of quality considered for crop propagated and distributed.Varieties for certification must be duly registered and released by Philippine Seed Board/National Seed Industry Council (PSB/NSIC).

The participants were trained and encouraged to apply for Plant nursery Accreditation and Plant Materials Certification.

The advantages of Accredited Plant Nursery are (1) Entitled for identified scion/plant propagules from the government registered scion groves (2) Access to technical assistance and supervision (3) Create network in selling their produce, and (4) Access to government program in terms of marketing.

One of the highlights of the activity is the nursery field tour in Palawan Agricultural Center (PAC) in Brgy. Irawan wherein the propagated cashew seedlings were showcased.
