Aparato won in the 2018 Regional On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest

In celebration to this year’s World Food Day Celebration with the theme “Our Actions are our future. A #ZeroHunger world by 2030 is possible.” the Department of Agriculture (DA) –MiMaRoPa Region conducted the Regional On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest.

John Lloyd D. Aparato from Calsapa Elementary School won as 1st place and he will represent the MiMaRoPa region in the national level on October 3, 2018 at DA-Central Office. While the 2nd and 3rd place were Jhon Aldred G. Gida from Bagong Buhay Elementary School and Mico D. Manubo from Porfirio G. Comia Memorial Elementary School.

Other contestants were: Channel Gail A. Rustia from Calsapa Elementary School; Chen Micaela V. Magsino from Water Elementary School; Benedict P. Reynoso and Jellian Beverly B. Lazo from Socorro Central School and Khen Chedzey M. Blanco from Benito R. Villar Memorial School.

All contestants received cash prizes with certificates and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) collaterals from the DA-region like bags, hat and umbrella which were also given to participating schools and coaches.

Posters were judged by Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer (APCO) Colleta Quindong, Regional Corn and Cassava Coordinator Engr. Ma. Christine C. Inting and Mr. Larry Nuestro from DA Agriculture and Fisheries Information Division- Central Office. The criteria for judging were: Originality – 20%; Creativity – 20%; Visual Impact – 20% and Relevance to the theme – 40%.

The activity was held on September 28, 2018 at Vencio’s Garden Hotel and Restaurant, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
