The MIMAROPA Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) will endorse micro-enterprise sub-projects worth at least P300.1 million for the issuance of no objection letters (NOL).
Members of the RPAB recently reviewed and approved eleven microenterprise project proposals that aim to generate activities that will help rebuild the livelihood of farmers as well as fisher folks from Typhoon Lando-affected areas in Marinduque and Roxas, Palawan.
Sub-projects from Marinduque include the “Marinduque Coco Geonet Production and Trading” of TanikalangPagkakaisa Multi-Purpose Cooperative worth P7,315,383.35 with 820 member beneficiaries; the “Nangka Coco Coir Processing” of Nangka CARP Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative worth P1,180,300.00 with 101 member beneficiaries; the “Butansapa Coco Coir Processing” of Butansapa Multi-Purpose Cooperative worth P1,154,600.00 with 42 member beneficiaries; and the “Arrowroot Production and Processing” of Malbog Multi-Purpose Farmer’s Cooperative worth P1,181,900.00 with 58 member beneficiaries.
The four regular I-REAP or enterprise development sub-projects from Roxas were already previously approved by the RPAB. However, due to the transfer of the implementing unit from the provincial to the municipal government, the said sub-projects had to be presented again for review. These projects are the “Construction/Rehabilitation of Nicanor-Zabala-San Miguel-Jolo Farm-to-Market Road”; “Construction/Rehabilitation of Antonino-Taradungan Farm-to-Market Road”; “Construction of Brgy. Bagumbayan Level II Potable Water System”; and the “Palawan Cashew Processing Center.”
Three micro-enterprise projects under the Global Environment Facility in Green Island Bay were also presented by the Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Office of Roxas, Palawan. These are the “Mangrove Crab Production” of SamahanngMaliliitnaMangingisdang Barangay Rizal worth P2,355,906.03 with 50 member beneficiaries; the “Community-based Green Grouper Livelihood Support Project” of MaliliitnaMangingisdangCaramay Multi-Purpose Cooperative worth P1,565,984.00 with 98 member beneficiaries; and the “Strengthening Local Partnerships through Integrated Marine Protected Areas (MPAs)” worth P26,185,450.00 with seven MPA (Caramay, San Miguel, Johnson Island, Tinitian, Rizal, Tumarbong, and Malcampo) beneficiaries.
The RPAB meeting was led by DA-4B Regional Executive Director Cipriano G. Santiago and attended by representatives from the Regional Agricultural and Fisheries Council, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Interior and Local Government, and Department of Public Works and Highways.
